The Railway Books business was established by Andrew Neale in 1988 and is now run by Andrew and Margaret Neale from their home in Lincolnshire. Visitors are welcome but only by prior appointment please.

We stock a wide range of new and second hand books on all aspects of railways, but with an emphasis on narrow gauge, industrial and minor railways worldwide. We also stock some material on canals, shipping, road and stationary steam, industrial history, internal combustion engines, excavators, cranes, materials handling etc.

We provide a specialist transport history consultancy service, undertaking work in museum consultancy, authorship & research and the sourcing of light railway materials. A book search service is also available.

Plateway Press was founded in 1986 by Keith Taylorson and Andrew Neale to publish good quality railway books and to date over sixty titles have been published.
